News from the AL Director

August is upon us, bringing us some very warm temperatures, be sure if you are tending to the gardens, enjoying a nice walk outside, or even just relaxing on the porch, to drink plenty of fluids, keep hydrated, and stay cool.

This month myself and Tangee, our new Registered Nurse here at Lincolnwood, will be attending the AL Regulations Class in Des Moines, gaining more knowledge of the Iowa assisted living laws, rules, and regulations. The focus of the education will be a review of the assisted living regulations and survey process, the role of the nurse and healthcare assistant in assisted living settings and medication management. The class will prepare the nurse and I to develop services and procedures that reflect assisted living values and comply with Iowa certification rules. I look forward to attending! 

And speaking of attending fun events, Tracey has lots of fun things planned for the month of August. Join her on the bus trips to travel around and see the views, bringing in sweet animals to snuggles, joining in on crafty creations, 4:30pm mass weekly and ending the month with Carol’s famous brunch!!!
