Welcome April!!

March was filled with many celebrations and the month of April brings many more special days to celebrate, with the first being Easter! Saturday, April 3rd Edgewood Convalescent Home will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 1-10. The hunt will start at 11:00 pm until all the eggs are found. Big thanks to the Honey Creek 4-H group for helping hide the eggs around our facility and the Edgewood Chamber for providing us with candy to fill the eggs. The residents are looking forward to watching the excitement of children through their windows. Residents will also be decorating eggs, learning all about bunnies, and making a clothespin cross in celebration of Easter Sunday.

We are excited to announce that we are now able to have clergy back in our building to do church services. Please view our monthly calendar to see specific dates! This month residents will be traveling to the Wild Amazon Rainforest, making grilled cheese sandwiches for National Grilled Cheese Day, making a stained-glass painting, learning about water pollution with a filtration experiment, and seeing who has the best nose as they play a scent guessing game.

April 18-24th is National Volunteer Week. I would like to personally thank our amazing volunteers for their dedication and time to ECH. We miss you all and are looking forward to you coming back into our building someday hopefully soon!! Shoutout to Norma Jean Heer, who works in the kitchen and volunteers her time almost weekly to help with bingo! Lastly, I would like to acknowledge our hairdressers Bev & Karen for their great work. Not having our hair done for months upon months truly makes you appreciate getting pampered with a good haircut and/or color! Don’t forget to thank your hairdresser as they are acknowledged on April 30th for Hairstylist Appreciation Day.
