It is hard to believe that is already August.  This year seemed to go by quickly with lots of things happening making up for 2020 when so many events were cancelled due to the pandemic.  We can quickly get caught up in the busyness of life, but we encourage you to take time and enjoy the moments here with your friends and loved ones.  We hope to never return to the isolation from last year, we need to take advantage of the time we have and remember COVID is not gone, and we need to continue to protect ourselves and our families.  As we hear of the ever-increasing numbers of COVID cases of the new Delta strain I would like to share 3 requests:

We have several residents that enjoy one on one time and appreciate spending time sitting outdoors.   If you can offer an hour or two, a day, a week or even more, we would be glad to get you set up to volunteer with us.  Fresh air does everyone good.  When you give to others, it is returned to you multiple times.  Share the good!

Secondly, I would like to remind everyone that we are continuing to be under guidelines of the Center for Disease Control and the Public Health Department in respect to visiting and masking.  If you are visiting, please ensure your mask is over your nose and mouth when in common spaces and if your loved one is sharing a room, alternate arrangements need to be made to visit in a common space or the roommate must be out of the room.

Lastly, if you have not been vaccinated yet, it is not too late.  As I had several residents say when the vaccine was being offered, “it is my responsibility to future generations.”  I understand there are many reasons that people cannot/do not get the vaccine but on behalf of our residents, please consider the benefits of being vaccinated.

We hope to see you soon!  Stay healthy and well.

Blessings,

Cheri Orcutt
