A big warm hello from the Activity Department. The holiday season is among us!! We have a busy month with a variety of activities planned and decorations to be hung. It’s a holiday tradition at ECH that staff split into their departments and decorate the resident halls. This year we will continue the tradition! In years past the families have always been able to come and vote on the best decorated hall. As you all know this year looks a little different because of visitation restrictions, so we will be posting the decorated hallways on our Facebook Page: Edgewood Convalescent Home & Lincolnwood Assisted Living for family and friends to vote. Please be sure to check out our page and place your vote. This year the residents will also be placing their votes for best decorated hall.

Who doesn’t love holiday themed activities?! Our activity calendar is full of fun ways to celebrate the holiday season. Some activities include sending Christmas cards, making ornaments, Nutcracker Bingo, decorating sugar cookies, and playing finish the holiday song. As in years past the staff and residents will continue with the tradition of having a Christmas meal together on December 22nd. We will miss all the families that attended the family Christmas dinner in the past but encourage you to enjoy a meal or visit your loved one via Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime. It is always appreciated that you call to set up a time to make sure of availability for a video chat, window visit, or in person visit.

Carston Calderwood, Vocal Music Director at Edgewood- Colesburg Community School District would like to invite residents, families, and friends to join him & his students for a live stream music concert on December 14th at 7:00 pm. Lastly, I would like to thank the Pech family from Winthrop for their kind and generous donation of gifts for our residents. This has brought so much cheer and love to our facility and we are grateful that you thought of us!

Thank you all for helping us get through this pandemic. We wish you all love and good health in the new year to come!
