Hello everyone, and welcome 2022! I pray that you all had a nice Christmas and a great start to the new year. January is off and running already.

The month of January will be a busy one and our activity calendar is packed full of things to do using the letter “Z” and of course having fun, as that is something we like to do here. We will be doing many fun crafts and playing some new games.

We are going to start off the month doing a zig-zag painting. Keep an eye out on your Facebook page in the days to come to see what fun colors we used. The residents will be going on a virtual safari to Zambia. They will be seeing zebras, elephants, lions, and many other animals that live in the safari of Africa. Besides learning about the zebra, we will be playing a game of Zebra Bingo. We will be learning a new dice game called Zero Difference. The object of the game be the first player to reach exactly zero by subtracting numbers created by a roll of the dice. Residents enjoy trying to new games and using their arithmetic skills.

January 8th, we celebrate Elvis’ birthday by remembering and singing his songs along with a bit of trivia for all of our Elvis fans. Here is a sample trivia question. In the song “Jailhouse Rock”, who is throwing a party in the county jail; is it the prison doctor or the warden? If you answered the warden, you are correct. This month we will also be doing a science experiment with a rock and an egg.  Which do you think we can get to float? We remain to have church for the residents. All volunteers are greatly appreciated! If you would like to volunteer, please contact me at ECH and I would love to talk with you more about volunteering options. Lastly, we will have live music this month with The Klett’s and Dave Poggenklass. Hats off to 2022!!
