September flew by and we are ready to bring on October activities. I am so excited for this month because that means Halloween is here! This month we have any different fun activities planned around pumpkins, tastings, and crafts.

At Lincolnwood Assisted Living I know how important it is for the tenants to learn new things and encourage participation in the activities we offer. Who doesn’t love to attend food programs? To start the month off we will be making our own pumpkin pudding dip. We will also have an apple tasting guessing game. Did you know there are over 7,500 varieties of apples and 2,500 are grown in the US!!

Our creative activities will include making ghost, pumpkins out of pipe cleaners, a candy corn craft and Halloween doorknob cards to put on their doors. They have the option to write whatever they want on the card. This is a great opportunity for our tenants to get creative with their minds!

I am excited to be taking the residents on a bus trip to the Pumpkin Patch in Manchester where they will be able to pick out their own pumpkins and gourds to decorate and display around their apartment to get in the Halloween spirit! Other Halloween activities include making drinks and spooky snacks while watching a Halloween movie.
