Hello everyone! We have a busy month ahead with lots fun activities planned, not to mention my favorite season is approaching, FALL! Before fall begins, we finish off the summer by celebrating Labor Day and Grandparents Day. During the week of Labor Day, we will be discussing some unusual jobs that people have, followed by playing a Labor Day themed wheel of fortune game. Grandparents Day is celebrated on September 13th. To celebrate our many amazing grandparents, we will be playing “GRAND” bingo on Sunday, September 13th in the morning. Later that week we will continue the celebration with a happy hour. This is also a great opportunity to send your grandparent a card/letter in the mail.

As Fall begins, we will be making an apple craft with popsicle sticks, having an apple taste testing day, making a seed painting mosaic using all different kinds of seeds, and a playing a fall harvest sorting game. Each month, the activity department is challenged to come up with new activities around a specific theme and this month is wildlife. Our wildlife activities this month include making an owl craft in which residents will be coloring and decorating their own owl and watching a documentary called Amazing Animals with Unusual Superpowers. We will be ending September by making s’mores and discussing fun facts about them.
