About Us
about us
We are located in the charming town of Edgewood, Iowa. A small town but very well known for our hospitality and for our Rodeo Days! We were founded in 1961 by a group of local individuals who wanted to improve our community’s ability to provide Long Term Care to elderly members of our community, and ensure they could receive the care they needed while being close to their family members.
Throughout the years, Edgewood Convalescent has continued to grow to better serve the community. We now have a capacity for 56 residents in our nursing home/skilled nursing & rehabilitation center and have 27 senior apartments at Lincolnwood Assisted Living.
Our staff strives to deliver the best quality care as evidenced by receiving the National Bronze Quality Award by the American Health Care Association. In addition, we work hard to maintain a 5-star rating with Medicare and have a successful state survey history.

OUR HISTORY:
A Legacy of Community and Care
Edgewood Convalescent Home was born from the vision and commitment of local businessmen and entrepreneurs Louis Perrinjaquet and Charles L. Jacobs. Originally conceived as a senior retirement facility, the concept quickly evolved into a full-service nursing home to better meet the needs of the community.
The project was embraced with enthusiasm, and in a short period, local investors rallied together to raise the necessary funds. Their collective effort underscored the town’s dedication to caring for its elders with dignity and close to home.
Construction of the facility was completed in 1961, and in November of that year, Edgewood Convalescent Home proudly opened its doors to its first residents.
More than six decades later, the spirit of that original mission continues. We remain community-owned and deeply committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care—just as our founders intended.
